This needs
to be said: This dialoguing process with the Lord is
only for those who have had a personal encounter with
Jesus Christ and have given their lives to Him.
Why?
Because
they know beyond the shadow of a doubt- in the
depths of their hearts, as well as in their heads- that
He is the living, risen Son of God. They know that at
the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow. They know that
He shed His Blood at Calvary to redeem each of us from
our sins. By His Blood we are cleasned from all
unrighteousness.
The name of Jesus and the power of His Blood- these are
our weapons, all we need to do battle with
principalities and powers. But we must know
this at every level, with every particle of our
being.
Early
in my walk with the Lord, He allowed me to be tested by
an angel of light and other principalities and powers
because head knowledge alone would bot be enough to do
spiritual battle with the enemy. I had to know
the power of the name of Jesus. and the Blood of
the Lamb. And the only way to know it absolutely, was to
walk through it, using them to defeat the
enemy.
It will be the same for you. If you pursue this
listening process with His Holy Spirit, sooner or later
you will encounter a deceiving spirit, pretending to be
Him. god allows this, because the only way to know for
certain that you are hearing the right voice is to
experience a wrong one.
A friend of mine, whom I had led into dialoguing with
Him, later encountered such a spirit. It began to direct
them. They became confused - and forgot that the author
of confusion and the author of fear were one and the
same. They became so hurt and distrustful that they
stopped dialoguing entirely - until a year later when
they attended another of my workshops, during which God
encouraged them to resume their conversation with Him
and record it in their prayer journal.
So
whenever I sit down to dialogue with Him, I first plead
the Blood of Jesus over my mind, body, soul, and spirit.
I can still be hearing self, instead of Him. But the
Blood-covering makes it less likely I am hearing an
unclean spirit pretending to be Him.
