1: How do I know that I am really hearing the voice
of God's Holy Spirit in my heart?
2: Are there scriptures for
this?
John 10 is a
promise by Jesus that his flock will hear his voice....
and follow him... and not the voice of the evil
one.
Duet. 28 in the old
testament states that if you hear His voice, and obey then
all His blessings will come upon you.
Romans 10 teaches that
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. That
is Logos and Rhema.
Did you know that all
of God's prophets who wrote the books of the Bible could
hear God? And they wrote what they heard. It started as
Rhema, fresh revelations of His voice or visions in
their hearts. And as they wrote it, that became Logos. And
the rabinical sages of Israel compiled it as scripture:
Torah. In the New Testament times the Apostles repeated the
same proceedure, communing with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in
prayer, fasting and His written Word. They too were led to
record His words and later the early church fathers
canonized it into a Bible.
There will never be
another Bible, only various translations,
because St. John's epistle warned about adding to
or taking away from the scriptures. But the practice of
prophetic prayer, fasting, communing and listening to God's
still small voice in the heart has been a part of Judism and
Christianity for thousands of years. Being 'led' by His
Spirit has been the quest of many thousands of pilgrims
of prayer. How to be led unless you can hear?
It is only in
this modern era of mass communication and noise, busy lives
with no refreshment, that man has forgotten to become quiet
enough to listen in his heart for the voice of his Creator,
His savior, His Comforter; To say, "Lord speak. You servant
listens to obey."
3: Have Christians always believed in being able to
hear God's voice?

4:What is Journaling?
5: What is the difference between journaling and
automatic writing?
6: How often should a person really
journal?
7: What other ways can I hear God in my
heart?
8: When my journaling conflicts with the Bible what
should I do?
The Bible tells us
to test the spirit of supernatural activity in our
prayer life.
You can plead the
Blood Covenant of Jesus, and rebuke the enemy. You can
insist that if the still small voice you hear will not
confess Jesus as Lord, that it be bannished.
The Holy Spirit will
not contradict himself. He doesn't change his mind or forget
things. He knows all things. He is not a slot machine for
instant results and answers either less we misuse journaling
to put words in His mouth or manipulate others. The only
weakness in journaling with the Lord is the human vessles
that listen and record.
You can check out
your journal with a trusted Bible teacher or Pastor. You can
study the subject in question with a concordance. If there
is a true conflict, discard it.
And realize this:
Whenever most people study healing, they seem to at first
suffer attacks on their health. Or if studying prosperity,
attacks on their finances. Or if trying to hear the Lord,
attacks and doubts about what they hear.
If there is a
prophetic element that predicts in the journal, the test
will be: Did it come to pass? But do not re arrange life to
make it come to pass. If God is speaking great change in
your life, then He will confirm it in the mouth of two or
three witnesses, not just a journal.
The Lord seems most
often to deal with issues of Character, and
Faith.
9: Does God speak in great volumes or only short
phrases? Will He really speak to
anybody?
God is not a
man that He should change. And he sets patterns by which He
may be recognized. One of these was a daily routine with man
before the fall in Eden. In the cool of the day He sought
out Adam and communed with him, and taught him. They even
named the animals together. That is hearing God pretty
accurately! And it was God's idea! He is speaking to who so
ever has ears to hear. But are we listening?
